Job postings — Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions
Executive Director, Las Vegas, NV
Looking to join a small yet dedicated nonprofit cat rescue organization making a difference in sunny Las Vegas? Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions is looking for a passionate, people-friendly professional to join the team as the Executive Director (ED)!
Homeward Bound was founded in 2007 as a foster-based rescue focused on finding homes for cats. For nearly 12 years, this small organization relied exclusively on volunteers to care for cats and complete adoptions at PetSmart and Petco stores. In 2019, Homeward Bound received funding to open its Flamingo Adoption Center and embarked on a transition from this foster-based structure. The 2,400-square-foot facility allowed Homeward Bound to care for more cats and increase adoptions by providing a modern, free-roaming space to minimize stress, serve the individual needs of each cat, and set up both cats and adopters for success. To date, Homeward Bound has saved over 9,000 cats, including 850 cats in 2022.

The ED is responsible for overseeing the organization's consistent achievement of its vision, mission, and financial objectives. This includes taking responsibility for planning, organizing, and supervising all aspects of Homeward Bound operations, overseeing the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the long-term growth and success of the organization, and ensuring high-quality animal care while increasing pet adoptions and spay/neuter for cats. This position requires a strong focus on fundraising objectives to achieve the organization’s lifesaving goals for cats and to ensure the organization’s sustainability. Requirements include a college degree and a minimum of three years of experience in animal sheltering and familiarity with animal welfare issues is preferred. Operations experience is a plus.
